About Garrison Redd

I’m Garrison Redd — a Brooklyn-born changemaker, motivational speaker, Team USA Paralympian, entrepreneur, published author, podcast host, fitness coach, and passionate advocate for equity and inclusion. My story is one of turning pain into power — and using that power to lift others.

At just 17 years old, my life changed forever when I was shot in the back, leaving me paralyzed from the waist down. That moment could have broken me — but instead, it became the spark that ignited my mission. I chose not to be a victim of circumstance, but a visionary of possibility

Growing up in Brownsville, Brooklyn, I always believed I was destined for more — and after my injury, I became even more determined to live with purpose. I trained relentlessly, eventually earning a spot as a Team USA Paralympic powerlifter, proving that limitations are meant to be shattered.

As a keynote speaker, I’ve spoken on stages from TEDx to Fortune 500 companies, delivering powerful messages about resilience, mindset, leadership, and disability inclusion. I help people from all walks of life reframe their challenges and recognize the strength within themselves.

Beyond speaking and sport, I’m the founder of The Garrison Redd Project, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities through adaptive fitness, mentorship, education, and community programs. Our goal: to increase visibility, accessibility, and opportunity for people who’ve historically been left out of the conversation.

My Personal Training And Coaching Brand

I also created Think Redd Fitness, my personal training and coaching brand, to help individuals of all abilities build physical strength, mental toughness, and unstoppable confidence. Through one-on-one coaching, group training, and online programs, I guide others toward becoming the best version of themselves — inside and out.

And I host the podcast “Garrison Redd Presents: A Positive Spin” — where I sit down with innovators, leaders, and everyday heroes to explore the power of perspective and how we can all turn life’s challenges into opportunities. It’s real talk, real stories, and real strategies for thriving in today’s world.

I’ve been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, HuffPost, Men’s Health, and Yahoo Lifestyle, and I’ve modeled in barrier-breaking campaigns that celebrate representation and redefine disability in fashion and fitness.

Everything I do — from coaching and speaking to advocating and creating — is rooted in one truth: we are all capable of greatness. Adversity builds strength. Purpose drives progress. And the only limits that matter are the ones we choose to break through.

Welcome to my world. Let’s build something powerful
